Tina from the South Shore Chamber spoke about the BAHM Mixer and the Business Expo being held at Harvey’s on 3/5/2010.
Darcy from Heavenly Tahoe Vacations spoke about Heavenly’s Ad Campaign in the Bay area that will be promoting their 3rd Night Free promo. Also, Kids Ski Free, and the Riper-roo Parade that takes place in the Heavenly Village every Saturday from 4-4:30pm.
Carol from the LTVA went through the LTVA’s new Strategic Plan that outlines the new direction the LTVA will be taking. South Lake is now competing with more Destinations. All markets have less discretionary income, so the LTVA wants to reposition it’s self as a Value Destination. The marketing focus is going to shift to mainly NorCal markets, and there is going to be a much larger focus on Social Media. Gaming is now being included as a South Shore amenity, and the LTVA is trying to focus more on the Outdoor Lifestyle and more niche markets.
Cheryl Marcell from the Sac Airport spoke about the New Airport Shuttle. There has never been a shuttle from the Sac Airport to South Tahoe. Supper Shuttle will be operating the shuttle service, which will consist of two 24-passenger vans. Soft launch will be March 1st 2010. To start there will 2 shuttles per day, more departures may be added depending on demand. Cost will be $99 per person for a round trip ticket. Right now the drop-off and pick-up location will be right by Stateline, with the possibility of more stops being added later. Cheryl did ask if the Lodging Community could help with promotion by adding links on their web sites.
